National Night Out
National Night Out
Date:
Oct 06, 2020
Time:
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location(s):
Gold Halls & Midway
The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office is turning its 37th National Night Out into a drive-thru event with a night of giving and learning!
During this drive-thru event, families can take part in a school supply and mask giveaway (while supplies last), along with a med drop where expired medications can be safely disposed of and a Safe Kids Cabarrus car seat check station. There will also be a canned food drive to help the Mt. Pleasant High School AWSUM Club collect items for the town's food pantries.
Some familiar demonstrations will still take place during this drive-thru event and guests can watch safely from their vehicles. Demonstrations include:
K-9 and drone demonstrations
Highway patrol cars and motorbikes
Town fire trucks and EMS
DARE mascot
CrimeStopper car
Other Sheriff's Office response teams
First responders' demonstrations and equipment
Sheriff's Office vehicles and personnel will be set up throughout the Midway directing residents to drive slowly through. Residents can watch demonstrations, look at equipment, and interact with law enforcement officers from their vehicles.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and develop police-community partnerships.
